March Focus Is..."Self-Sabotage"

Today's Focus Is "Self-Sabotage"... Now Webster defines #SelfSabotage as "behavior which creates problems and interferes with long-standing goals." This is something that I see too often in people. Personally, I've #SelfSabotage myself many times in my life. The most common self-sabotaging behaviors are #procrastination, #self-medication with #drugs or #alcohol, comfort #eating in the face of #weight concerns, and self-injury. These acts may seem helpful at the moment but ultimately undermine us, especially when we engage in them repeatedly. You must remember our ultimate destiny is determined by our mindsets. So how do we overcome Self-Sabotage?

The Professional:
As a professional, we all procrastinate from time to time. This procrastination normally is the reason why we can't move up the corporate ladder! I suggest you use strengthening deliberation and self-regulation methods. Using technology to help you remember the important things you want to conquer. Self-regulate yourself to stay on task. Shift your definition of your worth, from outcomes to effort.

The Entrepreneur:
As a business owner, you're both a professional and manager of your own destiny! Self-sabotaging yourself is very destructive in business. Mainly because most small businesses do not have the proper systems in place to keep them focused on their long-term goals. I suggest to my client's motivational therapies reconnect people with their goals and values. Consciously see mistakes and failure as stepping stones to success, rather than as definitions of your worth.

The Lifestyle:
Now personally we all have a survival program, which I call our ego-wounded self. It's activated by fear and goes into action to try to protect us from getting hurt. But we're self-sabotaging ourselves by keeping isolated, giving up to the point of resentment, & make so many self-serving demands on your partner that he or she feels undervalued. All are relationship killers!

The Bottom line:
Self-judgment is a major form of self-sabotage. When you notice yourself judging yourself, ask your higher self for the truth. Decide that you will define your worth by the loving actions you take for yourself and others, rather than by the outcome of the actions.
